Spice Cake Recipe
Ingredients
- 135 g all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1 tsp all-spice
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
- 175 g brown sugar
- 88 ml vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 120 ml buttermilk*
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 170 degrees Celsius. Spray an 8-inch baking pan with non-stick baking spray or butter.
- In a mixing bowl whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, ginger, allspice and cloves.
- Place brown sugar a bowl. Pour in vegetable oil and blend until well combined.
- Mix in eggs and vanilla.
- Add in 1/2 of the flour mixture and mix on low speed until combined, then blend in buttermilk, then add remaining 1/2 of the flour mixture and mix just until combined.
- Pour the batter in the baking pan. Bake in preheated oven until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean, about 30 minutes.
- Cool completely and enjoy.

- * If you do not have buttermilk mix, 2 tablespoons of vinegar or lemon juice, two milk. Wait five minutes and it will Curdle and thicken just like buttermilk. Make sure that the milk and vinegar together make the correct amount required for the recipe.
- Store the cake In an airtight container at room, temperature.
